​Derby - Salary £65k to £70k dependant on experience (hybrid)

Our client is a prominent player in the rail industry.

They specialise in the movement of rolling stock for rolling stock companies and train operating companies as well as locomotive spot hire services and the operation of charter trains.

They are currently recruiting a Key Account Manager based in Derby (hybrid).

They have received significant investment into the business in recent years and have stated its ambitions to procure new-built locomotives and to operate its own high speed freight services, challenging the traditional model.

This Key Account Manager role therefore presents an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate. As the Account Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing relationships and opportunities with customers, namely big players in the UK rail industry.

You will serve as the main point of contact for customers and stakeholders, successfully delivering contracts in order that our client and its partners deliver customer value whilst maximising profit.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maximise revenue opportunities through effective account management

  • Develop a deep understanding of cost drivers

  • Prepare budget forecasts & Board papers

  • Provide detailed revenue forecasts and projected cost analysis

  • Conduct regular contract reviews with the customers, providing KPI reports

  • Initiate and progress through to closure contracts, contract amendments, variation orders, heads of terms agreements etc in conjunction with other internal functions

  • Contribute to marketing and contracting activities.
