MPI/UT & DPI Welding Inspector

(circa £17 to £19 per hour)

Are you an experienced Welding Inspector looking for a new opportunity with an ambitious company?

With an ethos of traditional values and customer focused service, our client who is rapidly growing engineering and ambitious firm are seeking to add to their team with a full-time position for a Welding Inspector and non-destructive testing technician.

You’ll have responsibility to attend clients premises and undertake a range of multi-skilled non-destructive testing via magnetic particle inspection (MPI), dye penetrant inspection (DPI), ultrasonically inspect weldments in accordance with appropriate standards as stated by client and carry out these functions in a professional manner appropriate to the company ethical standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of carbon manganese stainless steel and aluminium both in plate and pipe. Understanding of the allied processes, MIG/MAG (solid, flux cored and metal cored) MMA and preferably SAW.

With an understanding of European procedural and acceptance standards and preferably American standards also such as AWS D1.1. and ISO., the MPI Welding Inspector must able to communicate to provide our clients with a total professional package from meeting through inspection to writing of their report.

You’ll be working in an environment of rapid change with people that are passionate and enthusiastic about quality and delivery to their clients and so you’ll need to be process driven and flexible with exceptional spoken and written communication skills.
