Leicestershire & UK Wide £40k – £55k depending on experience + £5k car allowance
We are representing a fantastic forward thinking company who have ambitious plans to grow significantly over the next few years.
They are a supplier of highly automated logistics solutions for market leading multinationals around the World. They design, manufacture and install a complete range of solutions, from small applications to complex, fully automated systems, supporting some of the biggest names in retail and supply chain.
The Commissioning Team Lead Engineer is a key member of the Controls Team responsible for the successful delivery of projects and the commissioning of Level 2 PLC control systems for automated materials handling solutions.
You will oversee teams of the Commissioning Engineers and Technicians for successful project delivery at various installation sites across the UK and Northern Europe.
The Commissioning Team Lead Engineer will be an active participant into the design process when required and will play an active role in the continuous development of their team.
The successful candidate will undertake the development of project software and architecture and be responsible for the preparation of commissioning packs which include drawings, commissioning sheets and test documentation
You will undertake full level 2 PLC commissioning, to include sign off of Level 1 commissioning, integration of third party equipment and testing when required and ensure full integration of systems to deliver a final working plant.
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum NVQ level 3 / City & Guilds in electrical engineering
- Ability to create project PLC code ideally in the Siemens S7 environment
- Previous experience of commissioning and testing in an engineering / industrial environment
- Previous experience of working with motion control via inverters and servo drives
You will need a good understanding of control systems including but not limited to:
- Networking concepts & hardware
- Fieldbus technology (Profibus, Profinet, ASi)
- Industrial Drives
You will also need knowledge of functional safety programming, back ground in material handling / conveyor industry or similar and the ability to design and develop HMI & SCADA systems.
Our client’s office is in Leicestershire and whilst you will be based from here, much of your time will be spent at client premises across the UK – and they have an impressive list of clients! So, your location can be fairly flexible and the role comes with a car allowance with all travel away from your main base fully expensed.
