Train Operating
Train operating can refer to the day-to-day operations of a railway. It involves two major components: the infrastructure and the rolling stock1. Trains can operate on steam, diesel, or electrical power. Electrical trains get their power from a third rail or electrical line along the track. In Great Britain, a train operating company (TOC) is a railway undertaking that operates passenger trains under the collective National Rail brand.
