Highways Maintenance Coordinator – Rutland

An excellent opportunity has arisen in the Rutland area for Highways Maintenance Professional to work in a team responsible for the coordination of works undertaken on the public highways.

As the Highways Maintenance Coordinator you will be responsible for the delivery of a sustainable, customer-focussed, high-quality, cost-effective highway service for all stakeholders in line with our client’s vision.

You will deliver customer focused services with regards to Highway Maintenance, Highway Drainage, Street Lighting and Winter Maintenance.

The Highways Maintenance Coordinator will manage the programming, scheduling and permitting of all Highway maintenance activities and contribute to the preparation of service plans as required.

You will be responsible for the production of accurate and timely documentation relating to notices and permits in line with requirements of the Street Works Act and to process statutory request documentation.

This role is an integral part of the Highways Maintenance infrastructure, where you will plan works in line with weekly and monthly delivery targets, responsible for raising notice and permits for all works, including liaising with relevant stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate will have / be:

  • Experience of monitoring street works and highway works
  • Knowledge of highway reinstatement techniques and materials
  • Detail conscious
  • Good to advanced level MS Office Skills, particularly Excel
  • Flexible and thorough approach to work with the ability to manager and prioritize workload
  • Confident and assertive, but able to prioritise and meet deadlines in a flexible manner
  • Able to work on own initiative

It would also be desirable, though not essential, if you had a Highway or Streetworks Inspector Qualification, knowledge and experience of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 and experience of preparing Traffic Regulation Orders.
