Are you a mechanically biased Condition Monitoring Engineer, Reliability Engineer or Vibration Analyst with hands-on experience of rotating equipment, vibration analysis and root-cause investigation?

RecruitME is recruiting for a Condition Monitoring Engineer to improve the reliability, availability and performance of anaerobic digestion plants and gas-upgrading equipment across the UK.

This is not a desk-based reliability role.

You will work directly with maintenance engineers, plant operators and engine technicians, using condition-monitoring and predictive-maintenance techniques to identify developing faults, prevent repeat failures and reduce unplanned downtime.

The role is home-based and requires regular UK travel, so candidates should ideally live within the East Midlands or eastern England.

What’s in it for you?

Salary up to £47,500

Annual bonus

Company vehicle or car allowance

Fuel card

Private healthcare

Up to 7.5% contributory pension

33 days’ annual leave including bank holidays

Home-based role

Condition-monitoring tools and equipment provided

Opportunity to develop a multi-site predictive-maintenance programme

Varied work across renewable-energy and process plants

The Condition Monitoring Engineer role

You will be responsible for improving asset health and reducing unplanned downtime across a portfolio of operational plants.

Your duties will include:

  • Carrying out vibration analysis on rotating equipment

  • Completing thermography, oil analysis and LDAR inspections

  • Building and developing predictive-maintenance routes

  • Collecting and analysing condition-monitoring data

  • Identifying developing mechanical faults

  • Producing clear technical reports and maintenance recommendations

  • Leading Root Cause Analysis investigations into repeat failures

  • Completing FMEA assessments on critical equipment and systems

  • Troubleshooting mechanical faults

  • Supporting maintenance teams during plant breakdowns

  • Recommending equipment upgrades and reliability improvements

  • Raising maintenance actions within the CMMS

  • Monitoring recurring defects and corrective actions

  • Working closely with plant operators, maintenance engineers and engine technicians

  • Supporting reliability-engineering standards and best practice

  • Travelling regularly to anaerobic digestion and biomethane plants across the UK

A strong mechanical engineering or maintenance background

Hands-on experience with rotating equipment

Practical condition-monitoring or predictive-maintenance experience

Experience carrying out vibration analysis

A recognised vibration-analysis qualification

Good knowledge of mechanical failure modes

Experience interpreting condition-monitoring data

The ability to produce accurate technical reports

Experience supporting or leading Root Cause Analysis investigations

Knowledge of FMEA or similar reliability tools

Experience using a CMMS or predictive-maintenance system

Good communication and IT skills

A full UK driving licence

Flexibility to travel extensively across the UK

The ability to work independently at operational sites

Qualifications

Ideally, you will hold:

A mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent engineering experience

NVQ Level 2 or above in a mechanical discipline

BINDT or Mobius Vibration Analysis Category I or Category II

A lubrication-analysis or thermography qualification

Formal Root Cause Analysis or FMEA training

Candidates with equivalent practical experience and a recognised condition-monitoring qualification are also encouraged to apply.

Relevant industry experience

Suitable backgrounds may include:

Anaerobic digestion

Biogas

Renewable energy
