This isn’t just another contracts role. This is about leading low-carbon transformation across homes, communities, and entire portfolios.

If you're a Contracts Manager with a passion for sustainability, energy efficiency, and delivering retrofit projects that matter, this is where your impact will be felt.

About the Company

This forward-thinking contractor specialises in delivering sustainable building solutions that cut carbon, improve lives, and future-proof homes across the UK.

With a strong commitment to innovation, compliance, and excellence, the company works with housing associations, councils, and energy providers to deliver high-quality retrofit and energy efficiency programmes, all in line with PAS2030/2035, ECO funding, and modern net-zero goals.

About the Contracts Manager (Decarb)

As Contracts Manager, you’ll take ownership of full project lifecycles, from mobilisation to completion, across a portfolio of retrofit and decarbonisation works.

From insulation and heating systems to window replacements and ventilation upgrades, you’ll ensure each contract is delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to exacting quality standards.

You’ll be a key interface between clients, residents, internal teams, sub-contractors, and funding bodies.

Compliance is crucial, so you'll lead with an expert understanding of PAS2035, ECO regulations, and the energy efficiency sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver retrofit and decarbonisation contracts to meet client requirements, budgets, and schedules

  • Oversee installation of energy-saving measures (EWI, IWI, loft insulation, windows/doors, low-carbon heating, ventilation, lighting etc.)

  • Ensure full compliance with PAS2030/2035, Building Regs, ECO, H&S and all relevant legislation

  • Lead site teams and subcontractors, managing performance, quality, and productivity

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure project safety, compliance, and progress

  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders including clients, tenants, funding partners, and supply chain

  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation including reports, drawings, and site records

  • Work closely with commercial and operational leads to monitor costs, manage variations, and maximise contract performance

  • Champion health & safety and foster a culture of excellence and accountability across all sites

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of project/contract management experience in retrofit, decarb, construction, or energy efficiency sectors

  • Strong understanding of PAS2030/2035 standards and funding frameworks (ECO)

  • SMSTS, IOSH Managing Safely, and CSCS (Managers Category) certifications

  • In-depth knowledge of building regs, insulation systems, renewables, and construction methodology

  • Skilled in reading technical drawings and programme planning

  • Commercially astute with awareness of budgets, contract variations, and cost control

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Competent with Microsoft Office, Power Project, and AutoCAD

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Retrofit Coordinator or Assessor Qualification

  • Knowledge of M&E systems, renewables or heat network delivery

  • Temporary Works training or experience

Benefits Package

  • £50,000 base salary
