We are seeking an experienced Feed Mill Mechanical Engineer to join a leading UK agricultural and food production company. This role is perfect for a mechanical engineer with feed mill or agricultural engineering experience, looking to work in a fast-paced and safety-focused environment.

As a Feed Mill Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving feed milling machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and consistent production output. You will play a key role in supporting a high-volume feed mill operation and delivering engineering solutions to keep production running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on feed milling equipment, conveyors, mixers, pellet presses, and agricultural processing machinery.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnose mechanical faults, and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Install, commission, and modify new feed mill equipment and agricultural machinery as required.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety standards, including safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site’s CMMS system.
• Work closely with production teams to prioritise engineering support and resolve issues quickly.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance machinery performance and reliability.
• Assist with parts procurement, liaising with suppliers and managing maintenance stock levels.

About You:
• Time-served mechanical engineer or equivalent Level 3 qualification in mechanical or agricultural engineering.
• Proven experience as a mechanical engineer in a feed mill, grain processing plant, or food manufacturing environment.
• Skilled in mechanical fault finding and repair, including conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of feed mill operations.
• Desirable: Knowledge of agricultural machinery, boiler/steam systems, HACCP awareness, Microsoft Office, CMMS software, IOSH qualification.
