The Fibre Network Planner will be joining a company led by titans of the industry and has a fresh and innovative feel about it. They are removing barriers so their customers can enjoy an uninterrupted connected life with reliable, full fibre to the home (FTTH) broadband, investing in underserved areas.

The Fibre Network Planner will be responsible for producing robust, cost-effective and future proof civils and fibre optic designs for new build and infill opportunities.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in telecom fibre and copper networks

• Excellent communication skills

• Working experience of all MS Office applications

• Experience or working knowledge of GIS/PNI platforms

• High personal drive to deliver

What you’ll be doing

• Acting as the ‘Design Authority’ for external network orientated solutions

• Developing optimal civil/cabling engineering solutions (challenging established principles and taking a flexible approach)

• Undertaking feasibility studies and calculating budget and/or detailed estimates to assess the financial and engineering viability of planned solutions

• Gathering necessary information, including by physical survey in order to create a quality work package

• Provision of relevant budgetary information to internal and external customers

• Negotiation and settling of wayleaves, easements and irrevocable consents

• Dealing with external bodies to ensure construction work is carried out in a cost effective

• Ensure that the correct Bill Of Materials are generated

• Providing a single point of technical accountability for the design and build of the solution, including resolution of engineering difficulties, exceptions, deviations from design and resultant redesigns if required.
