About the HGV Fleet Mechanic
Based at the Doncaster depot, the HGV Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and servicing a mixed fleet of vehicles, trailers, and site transport. From diagnostics to pre-MOT checks, you’ll ensure everything is running at top performance — safely, reliably, and in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Service, repair, and inspect HGVs, trailers, and factory vehicles
Carry out pre-MOT inspections and checks to DVSA/VOSA standards
Diagnose mechanical issues and carry out effective, safe repairs
Maintain workshop cleanliness and adhere to high housekeeping standards
Keep accurate maintenance records and complete necessary paperwork
Support operational teams and respond to ad hoc repair requirements
What We're Looking For
Fully qualified with City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in relevant field
HGV Class C+E licence is essential
Solid mechanical experience with HGVs and trailers
Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures
Excellent attention to detail and time management
Confident diagnosing faults and working independently or as part of a team
Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
