Derby/Hybrid - Key Account Manager – Tri-Mode Locomotives Salary - £65k - £68k

Are you a relationship-driven commercial professional with a passion for the rail industry?

This is your chance to join a young, disruptive and forward-thinking private equity backed business at the forefront of low-emission rail technology.

We’re looking for a Key Account Manager to take charge of high-value relationships across the UK rail sector — driving leasing opportunities for state-of-the-art tri-mode locomotives that are redefining sustainable transport.

About the Role

This is a client-facing, commercially focused Key Account Manager role where you’ll manage a portfolio of key rail operator accounts.

Your job? To understand their fleet needs, negotiate leasing agreements, and ensure long-term value for both the client and the business.

You'll be a trusted partner to some of the biggest names in the rail industry, helping them transition to smarter, greener traction with innovative leasing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with major rail operator clients across freight and passenger sectors.

  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and support lease contract negotiations.

  • Act as the bridge between clients, engineering, commercial, and legal teams to deliver tailored leasing solutions.

  • Monitor contract performance and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

  • Provide market insight to support pricing strategies, new offerings, and product positioning.

  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and client meetings.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in key account management, commercial leasing, or business development — ideally within the transport, rail, or asset finance sectors.

  • Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and deliver against commercial targets.

  • Strong understanding of leasing models, commercial contracts, and customer lifecycle management.

  • Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Confident communicator, able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Desirable

  • Background in rail, rolling stock, or large capital asset industries.

  • Knowledge of tri-mode or low-emission locomotives.

Be the commercial voice our clients trust — and help lead the charge toward a greener rail future.

Apply now to join a company that’s transforming the UK’s rolling stock landscape.
