HV Electrical Trainer
A High Voltage (HV) Electrical Trainer is a specialist who educates and trains individuals—often electricians, engineers, or maintenance personnel—on how to safely and effectively work with high voltage electrical systems. These systems are typically found in industries like power generation and distribution, railways, electric vehicles, renewable energy, and heavy manufacturing.
⚡ Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver Training Courses
Teach theoretical and practical aspects of HV systems.
Conduct classroom sessions, hands-on labs, and safety drills.
2. Develop Training Materials
Create manuals, presentations, and assessments tailored to industry standards.
Update content to reflect the latest regulations and technologies.
3. Ensure Safety Compliance
Emphasize safe working practices and legal requirements (e.g., UK’s Electricity at Work Regulations).
Train on lockout/tagout procedures, PPE, and risk assessments.
4. Assess Competency
Evaluate trainees through written tests and practical demonstrations.
Certify individuals for HV work where applicable.
5. Stay Current with Industry Trends
Keep up with changes in HV technology, such as smart grids or EV charging infrastructure.
Attend industry events or obtain certifications (e.g., City & Guilds, CompEx, or NICEIC).
🧠 Skills & Qualifications
Strong electrical engineering background, often with HV specialization.
Teaching or training certification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training in the UK).
Experience with HV switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and fault diagnosis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
