RecruitME are working exclusively with a people centric organisation that supports and maintains a variety of services in the Newark area who are recruiting for a Building Safety and Compliance Officer.

There is an exciting opportunity to join our client’s Housing Property Service. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that they fulfil its statutory compliance duties in fire and building safety legislation.

Building Safety and Compliance Officer/ Surveyor will be responsible for ensuring that robust performance management and quality assurance frameworks are in place for property compliance. You will also be responsible for developing and managing robust procedures, processes and policies in your designated area.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of fire safety legislation.

The successful Building Safety and Compliance Officer/ Surveyor candidate will join a small and friendly dedicated team managing all aspects building compliance and safety.

The focus of the role is on Fire Safety and Asbestos management however, candidates with experience in fire safety compliance are encouraged to apply as training can be provided in relation to the asbestos elements of the role.

Key aspects of the role include:

•Ensuring that legislative and regulatory requirements are continually met in relation to asbestos management and fire safety

•Appointment and contract management of special contractors

•Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of compliance and safety strategies which meet customer expectations, evolving legislation, and best practice

•Manage the framework for the control and record keeping of all relevant projects

What we’re looking for:

•The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering compliance safety.

•Experience in fire safety is essential but training can be provided in the asbestos management elements of the role.

•The Compliance Surveyor should also have demonstrable experience of success contract management, will be qualified at Level 4 or above in a relevant field and will bring excellent organisation and communication skills.
