About the Business Development Manager Role

Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities in construction, architecture, and the wider built environment
Work closely with the Sales & Marketing Director to shape and execute a high-growth sales strategy
Build strong, long-term relationships with developers, specifiers, builders, installers, and architects
Attend industry events and trade shows to generate leads and expand brand visibility
Present tailored solutions that align with customer needs—selling not just products, but value
Conduct market and competitor research to spot opportunities and emerging trends
Support pipeline development, from lead generation to closing deals, using CRM tools and analytics
Collaborate with design, estimating, and marketing teams to deliver winning proposals
Maintain and grow key accounts through structured account planning and consistent follow-up
Deliver on sales targets and play an active role in shaping forecasts and budgets
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a Business Development Manager role or similar within construction, manufacturing, or the built environment
A track record of smashing sales targets and opening new markets
Confident, self-starting, and relationship-led approach to sales
Strong communication and negotiation skills—comfortable pitching to senior stakeholders
Analytical mindset with a grasp of sales data, CRM systems, and forecasting
A natural connector who thrives in both strategy and hands-on delivery
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly for client meetings and events
