About the Role – Hygiene Manager (Nights)
As Hygiene Manager - Nights, you will lead and develop the hygiene team during the overnight shift — ensuring the site remains spotless, audit-ready, and fully compliant with health & safety and food safety standards.
You’ll balance people leadership with process ownership — managing team performance, improving standards, leading audits, and ensuring strict control of chemical usage and hygiene procedures across the facility.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the night hygiene team, ensuring high performance, engagement, and clear direction
Oversee all hygiene operations in line with food safety, H&S, HACCP, and customer audit requirements
Deliver continuous improvements in hygiene standards — both visual and microbiological
Conduct hygiene audits and ensure the site remains audit-ready at all times
Ensure full compliance with chemical handling, COSHH protocols, and cleaning documentation
Train and develop the team on hygiene processes, SOPs, and safe systems of work
Monitor and manage cleaning chemical stock levels and equipment usage
Work collaboratively with technical, engineering, and operations teams to maintain hygiene excellence
Be an active contributor to HACCP and VACCP reviews
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Hygiene Manager, Hygiene Supervisor, or similar in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
Experience working in high-risk, low-risk, or low-care food production
IOSH Managing Safely (essential)
Food Safety Level 3 and HACCP Level 3 certified
Strong knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, and safe systems of work
Track record of leading, training, and developing teams in a fast-paced environment
Audit and compliance knowledge – internal, customer, and BRC
A hands-on leader who is calm under pressure and solutions-driven
Able to work nights, Monday to Friday, and live within commutable distance of Gainsborough
