About the Role – Hygiene Manager (Nights)

As Hygiene Manager - Nights, you will lead and develop the hygiene team during the overnight shift — ensuring the site remains spotless, audit-ready, and fully compliant with health & safety and food safety standards.

You’ll balance people leadership with process ownership — managing team performance, improving standards, leading audits, and ensuring strict control of chemical usage and hygiene procedures across the facility.

This is not a desk job. This is a hands-on leadership role — where your visibility on the floor, your ability to train and motivate, and your commitment to excellence are everything.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the night hygiene team, ensuring high performance, engagement, and clear direction

  • Oversee all hygiene operations in line with food safety, H&S, HACCP, and customer audit requirements

  • Deliver continuous improvements in hygiene standards — both visual and microbiological

  • Conduct hygiene audits and ensure the site remains audit-ready at all times

  • Ensure full compliance with chemical handling, COSHH protocols, and cleaning documentation

  • Train and develop the team on hygiene processes, SOPs, and safe systems of work

  • Monitor and manage cleaning chemical stock levels and equipment usage

  • Work collaboratively with technical, engineering, and operations teams to maintain hygiene excellence

  • Be an active contributor to HACCP and VACCP reviews

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Hygiene Manager, Hygiene Supervisor, or similar in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment

  • Experience working in high-risk, low-risk, or low-care food production

  • IOSH Managing Safely (essential)

  • Food Safety Level 3 and HACCP Level 3 certified

  • Strong knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, and safe systems of work

  • Track record of leading, training, and developing teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Audit and compliance knowledge – internal, customer, and BRC

  • A hands-on leader who is calm under pressure and solutions-driven

  • Able to work nights, Monday to Friday, and live within commutable distance of Gainsborough

What’s in It for You?

  • Competitive salary: £40,000 – £44,000 depending on experience

  • Perkbox access and a comprehensive employee benefits package

  • Company pension

  • Free product allowance

  • Loyalty and wellbeing initiatives

  • Ongoing learning, training, and personal development

  • Be part of a business with major growth plans and strong family values
