About the Role
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind regional growth in the Northern Home Counties. Your week will be split between winning new contracts and nurturing key accounts to ensure repeat business.
Working alongside branch leaders, bid teams, and marketing support, you’ll drive revenue across a diverse client base including local authorities, housing associations, schools, healthcare, and commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Generate new opportunities and drive enquiry volumes to meet branch targets
Spend around 40% of your time on new business development
Manage multiple existing accounts, providing a professional, consistent experience
Monitor branch performance vs targets and take corrective action where needed
Log and track pipeline activity via an ERP system; ensure data accuracy
Collaborate with bid and marketing teams on tenders, social media, and digital content
Attend industry events, host client meetings, and contribute to reviews and reporting
Work closely with Branch Managers and Key Account teams to shape sales strategy
What You’ll Need
Previous experience as a Business Development Manager or in a similar client-facing, sales-focused role
Background in selling services to sectors such as housing, education, healthcare, or commercial property
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence decision-makers
Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with a natural flair for client engagement
Resilient, self-driven, and motivated to exceed targets
Excellent organisational and planning skills, with an eye for detail
Full UK driving licence is essential
