In a partnering programme with the Ministry of Defence, my client supplies and maintains three fleets of aircraft within the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS). Through technical advancement and commercial innovation, they deliver aircraft to match the training needs of the next generation on the frontline.
They have an amazing opportunity for a Commercial Officer to join them in a role that offers unrivalled professional development and benefits.
As Commercial Officer you will be responsible for supporting the Commercial department in identifying and resolving commercial issues facing the business.
You will also be coordinating their commercial approach with various departments within the organisation and particularly the operational functions as well as providing commercial support to other individuals within the company.
What to except day-to-day:
Developing commercial procedures within the overall company framework
Corresponding with the Client on specific terms and conditions concerning KPIs and agreeing on a way forward in the case of disagreement/escalating to higher levels, including initiating a dispute resolution process
Preparing all aspects relevant to a proposal (pricing, commercial terms and conditions, programme implications)
Review, analyse and comment on various commercial contract aspects, to include but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities of Defined Parties
Terms and Terminations
Representations, Warranties, Covenants, IPR
Insurances
Indemnities and Liabilities
Confidentiality
Charge Control
Governance and Dispute Resolution
Payment and Performance Guarantees
General Provisions (jurisdiction, correspondence, governing law etc.)
Risk Management
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a reasonable level of commercial knowledge such as a general understanding of contract terms and conditions and a willingness to read and analyse detailed contract terms
Has experience of working within an organisational and contractual structure requiring the delivery of output against a performance monitoring regime
Possesses the ability to interpret and manipulate complex commercial and operational data
Has experience in the coordination of performance monitoring
Has the ability to liaise and co-operate effectively with all business functions and particularly operationally focused teams
The ideal candidate will also be required to have a full UK driving licence.
