We are recruiting a talented Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join the facilities team at one of Nottingham’s most iconic and dynamic venues, a major entertainment and sports complex known for hosting large scale public events and performances. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key part in the smooth running of a busy, high energy environment where no two days are the same.
About the Role
As a Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias), you will help keep a major public venue running at its best, maintaining and improving its infrastructure, plant, and systems. You will take the lead on electrical maintenance, installations, and temporary event power while supporting a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the site.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance and installations
• Set up and manage temporary power and AV requirements for live events
• Oversee technical delivery for major event nights and fixtures
• Supervise contractors, apprentices, and facilities operatives
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and statutory standards
• Operate the Building Management System (BMS) to optimise performance
• Support wider facilities maintenance as required
• Maintain clear and professional communication with internal teams and event partners
• Work flexibly to support the event schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays
About You
You are a proactive and adaptable engineer who thrives in fast moving, hands on environments. You bring technical expertise, attention to detail, and pride in keeping systems running safely and efficiently.
Essential:
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
• 17th or 18th Edition qualification
• Proven experience in multi discipline maintenance roles
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety and compliance
• Confident in fault finding, diagnostics, and working under pressure
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
Desirable:
• IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, IPAF, PASMA, or ECS Card
• Experience with AV systems, BMS operation, or supervision of others
