About the Client: a very well-established engineering business working across the UK.

We are working alongside one of our fantastic clients who are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their busy Accounts and Finance team.

The role encompasses all their group of companies and reports into a highly experienced Group Finance Manager.

They are a renowned engineering company based in Lincolnshire who work alongside a multitude of brands in the UK constructions sector.

It is a great opportunity to work in a very collegiate environment where you will be fully supported by the Finance Manager and wider finance team, work closely with department directors and be involved in multi-company accounts for a business with big order book and list of ongoing works.

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day tasks that are essential to preparing and maintaining timely and accurate financial reporting.

As Finance Assistant, you will provide ongoing assistance to the Group Finance Manager by preparing reports and analysing key financial information and data.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day:

  • Preparation of periodic financial statements and analysis, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, trial balances, variation analysis and commentaries

  • Provide insightful analysis to support business decisions, help the business in understanding trends and performance to contribute to medium and long-term business forecasts

  • Prepare monthly cost of sales and overhead analysis and reporting to the wider departments

  • Assist Group Finance Manager with year-end support, audit and accounts preparation

  • Supplier payment run and assisting in competitive supplier price sourcing

Who we are looking for:

  • Advanced accounting skills with previous experience in an Accounts role, ideally multi-company accounting

  • Experience in Sage 200, training will be provided if required

  • AAT level 3 or above is desirable

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills, high accuracy and acute attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
