A high-performing contractor with a strong reputation in delivering residential upgrades and refurbishments is seeking a driven Planned Works Supervisor to lead on-site teams across key improvement projects in Sussex.

About the Planned Works Supervisor

The Planned Works Supervisor will take operational control of internal refurbishment and upgrade projects across multiple sites. This includes managing direct labour and subcontractors, scheduling works, ensuring compliance with H&S and building regulations, and driving quality standards on site.

You’ll be a hands-on presence, motivating teams, solving problems, liaising with suppliers, and being the go-to for all things operational.

With support from senior management and access to modern systems, this is a chance to lead projects the right way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of planned internal works

  • Coordinate on-site labour, trades, and subcontractors to maximise productivity and safety

  • Ensure quality of workmanship meets internal and client expectations

  • Track project progress against milestones and adjust workflows as needed

  • Manage tools, materials, and site resources efficiently

  • Uphold strict health & safety procedures and lead toolbox talks

  • Conduct quality inspections and resolve on-site issues promptly

  • Maintain accurate records of labour hours, daily activity, and material use

  • Report progress and performance metrics to senior managers

  • Build a positive team environment and provide on-site guidance and leadership

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering internal planned works

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing both direct teams and subcontractors

  • SMSTS certification

  • NVQ Level 2 in a relevant trade

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Clear and confident communicator – verbal and written

  • Proficient in construction management systems and Microsoft Office

  • Strong knowledge of site health and safety practices and construction regulations

  • Ability to work in varied site conditions and lead by example
