Trainee FTTP Network Planner

They rely on teams full of inspiring people and so we’re looking for more Trainee FTTP Network Planners to join the Network Planning Team.

The Trainee Network Planner will be playing a key role in the future growth and decisions around how and where they deploy their future network.  

The Planning Team is responsible for Fibre Network Planning and GIS activities and are instrumental in the future success and performance of the business and the geographies they serve.

What we’re looking for 

·         Ability to understand fibre designs, wither through a technical career background or through personal experience / knowledge

·         Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Visio, etc. Ideally CAD or GIS

·         Graduate in a numerate discipline, such as Maths, Science, Engineering or Geography (desirable)

What you’ll be doing

 ·         Gathering information by physical surveys to produce network design packs

·         Undertaking feasibility studies and calculating budget and/or detailed estimates to assess the financial and engineering viability of planned solutions

·         Gathering necessary information, including by physical survey in order to create a quality work package

·         Provision of relevant budgetary information to internal and external customers

·         Developing optimal civil/cabling engineering solutions (challenging established principles and taking a flexible approach) in response to company requirements

·         Going out into the field to carry out joint validation surveys with contractors to establish the most effective trench route and cab locations
