The Role

As a Workshop Engineer / Fitter, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and adapting a wide range of machinery and equipment used in groundcare and turf production. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment to the highest standards and minimising downtime.

Key responsibilities:

  • Service and repair groundcare, turf, and agricultural machinery

  • Diagnose faults and carry out day-to-day repairs and troubleshooting

  • Convert, adapt, and fabricate new and existing machinery

  • Prioritise and attend urgent breakdowns

  • Complete job cards accurately for all work undertaken

  • Use technology (e.g. WhatsApp) for breakdown reporting and communication

  • Workshop Engineer/ Fitter Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience as a Fitter, Mechanic, Engineer, or Technician

  • Background in agricultural, horticultural, groundcare, or garden machinery

  • Strong knowledge of workshop machinery, welding, engines, electrics, and hydraulics

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

  • IOSH or other relevant health & safety certification

  • Relevant tickets (welding, abrasive wheels, etc.)

  • Experience with turf or irrigation equipment

  • Basic IT skills and effective communicator

  • Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset
