Passive fire protection (PFP)
Passive fire protection (PFP) refers to built-in safety measures designed to slow the spread of fire and smoke without requiring any action to operate. These systems are always active, embedded into the structure of buildings, vehicles, and industrial equipment, and they utilize fire-resistant materials and systems to contain fire and smoke. Unlike active fire protection systems, such as sprinklers or alarms, passive fire protection operates automatically and does not require activation.
