In a partnering programme with the Ministry of Defence, my client supplies and maintains three fleets of aircraft within the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS). Through technical advancement and commercial innovation, they deliver aircraft to match the training needs of the next generation on the frontline.
They have a rare opportunity for a Business and MI Analyst to join them in a role that offers unrivalled professional development and benefits.
As Business and MI Analyst, you will be responsible for working across the business with varied stakeholders including their operational and central teams.
This role has a specific focus on setting up, maintaining, and improving the accurate, robust, and fit-for-purpose data tracking and reporting systems that underpin the work of the organisation.
The Business and MI Analyst will be responsible for providing the governance and delivery of assurance necessary to deliver on the organisation's promises. This will involve elements of financial analysis and project management to support the business to understand what drives their largest costs; and allow them to prioritise and plan the most impactful initiatives whilst facilitating tracking and reviews to maximise the benefits.
What to expect day-to-day:
Building and owning an internal platform for tracking key management information for use in reporting processes
Building and owning a suite of reports using the data in the tracking platform
Progress and performance of individual initiatives, for distribution to directors and project owners
Program-level performance, for distribution to senior executives and board
Data consistency and quality, for internal validation of source data
Producing and distributing reports on a monthly reporting cycle
Engaging with stakeholders across the business to proactively address identified data quality issues
Training others in the efficient and effective use of platforms and reports
Identify and prioritise continuous improvements to processes, tools, or reports in the pursuit of providing a robust and fit-for-purpose platform
Conducting trend and variance analysis to identify and prioritise initiatives
Supporting annual target setting and re-baselining processes
Responsibility for managing and coordinating the Company’s risk register
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a clear focus to deliver results, working to targets, reviewing progress, and adapting accordingly, motivating themselves/the team to achieve
Understands business and external environment, is cost conscious and understands the longer-term perspective and implications of decisions
Is open to new ways of doing things and questions existing approaches, views change as an opportunity, comfortable working in a dynamic and ambiguous environment
Expresses ideas confidently and clearly, builds positive and constructive relationships with others, gets to know colleagues, and supports them to ensure team goals are achieved
Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience, with exposure to project management activities and data management systems
Has experience of building, owning, maintaining, and improving an internal platform
Has strong Microsoft Excel, and Business Intelligence platform (e.g., PowerBI) skills
The ideal candidate will also possess a professional qualification in a commercial, technical, or IT discipline and have a full UK driving licence.
