Navenby, Lincolnshire - £35,548 (Single Skilled) - 5 days per week DAYS ONLY

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the maintenance team at a key feed mill site in Navenby, Lincolnshire. This is one of only two feed milling facilities within the wider group – a strategically important 24/7 operation supplying feed to a major UK food production network.

This well-established, high-output site is home to a skilled, collaborative team and modern production equipment. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the mill runs smoothly, downtime is minimised, and plant performance is optimised.

The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Deliver the site maintenance plan, ensuring planned preventative maintenance is completed on time.

  • Support the breakdown call-out rota to quickly resolve issues and keep production flowing.

  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems and equipment across the mill.

  • Assist with purchasing and stock control for maintenance parts and consumables within budget.

  • Follow the site’s permit-to-work system and uphold the highest health and safety standards.

  • Work with the automated process control system to support production operations.

  • Monitor environmental impact within your area of responsibility and take action to minimise it.

Key Skills & Experience

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who has:

  • Proven mechanical maintenance and repair experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or feed milling environment.

  • Good understanding of mechanical systems, fault finding, and preventative maintenance.

  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with industrial boilers and IOSH qualification (desirable).

  • A team-oriented, flexible, and proactive approach to work.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join a site that plays a pivotal role in the UK’s feed production industry. You’ll be part of a close-knit engineering team, working in a modern facility where your expertise will make a real impact on performance, safety, and efficiency.

If you’re a Mechanical Engineer looking for a role with variety, responsibility, and long-term career potential, we’d like to hear from you.
