Site Services Team Leader – Engineering

Location: Spalding | Permanent | Monday–Friday

Are you a hands-on engineering leader who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments?

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Site Services Engineer or Senior Engineer to step into a pivotal role, taking ownership of critical site infrastructure and leading a small, skilled engineering team.

You’ll play a central part in keeping a high-volume, chilled FMCG operation running safely, efficiently and compliantly – ensuring boilers, refrigeration, utilities, compressed air, air handling systems, pipework and effluent plant remain fully operational.

If you enjoy being close to the action, leading from the front, and making a visible impact on site performance, this role is built for you.

The Role

As Site Services Team Leader, you will:

• Lead and coordinate the Site Services engineering team, ensuring all PPMs and job sheets are completed on time

• Deputise for the Senior Supervisor, providing technical direction and day-to-day leadership

• Attend daily engineering meetings, reporting on KPIs and escalating issues

• Own site services performance across boilers, refrigeration, utilities, air systems and effluent plant

• Maintain audit readiness and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date

• Manage breakdowns, work orders and corrective maintenance from start to finish

• Control contractors on site, including permits and compliance

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all plant areas

• Develop and update SSOWs and SOPs

• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environment and Food Hygiene standards

• Support factory start-ups and minimise downtime

• Champion a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement

About You

You’ll be an experienced engineering professional with:

• A background in FMCG, chilled manufacturing or similar high-volume environments

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

• Experience leading or mentoring engineers

• A track record of closing out work and solving problems

• Confidence working with boilers, refrigeration and utilities

• Strong organisation and communication skills

• A proactive, accountable mindset

Essential / Desirable:

• BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme)

• Asbestos Awareness

• Familiarity with refrigeration plant

This role suits an engineer who wants more influence, more responsibility, and the chance to be the go-to person for site services performance.
