Site Services Team Leader – Engineering

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Site Services Engineer or Senior Engineer to step into a pivotal role, taking ownership of critical site infrastructure and leading a small, skilled engineering team.
You’ll play a central part in keeping a high-volume, chilled FMCG operation running safely, efficiently and compliantly – ensuring boilers, refrigeration, utilities, compressed air, air handling systems, pipework and effluent plant remain fully operational.

The Role
As Site Services Team Leader, you will:
• Lead and coordinate the Site Services engineering team, ensuring all PPMs and job sheets are completed on time
• Deputise for the Senior Supervisor, providing technical direction and day-to-day leadership
• Attend daily engineering meetings, reporting on KPIs and escalating issues
• Own site services performance across boilers, refrigeration, utilities, air systems and effluent plant
• Maintain audit readiness and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date
• Manage breakdowns, work orders and corrective maintenance from start to finish
• Control contractors on site, including permits and compliance
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all plant areas
• Develop and update SSOWs and SOPs
• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environment and Food Hygiene standards
• Support factory start-ups and minimise downtime
• Champion a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement
About You
You’ll be an experienced engineering professional with:
• A background in FMCG, chilled manufacturing or similar high-volume environments
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers
• A track record of closing out work and solving problems
• Confidence working with boilers, refrigeration and utilities
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• A proactive, accountable mindset
Essential / Desirable:
• BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme)
• Asbestos Awareness
• Familiarity with refrigeration plant
