We are recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering team at a large-scale industrial site in Doncaster. This is a permanent role with an excellent starting salary and long-term stability.

About the Role

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems on-site. The role covers both preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure plant reliability, compliance, and minimal downtime. You’ll be part of a team that supports 24/7 operations, working a 12-hour 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days and nights).

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled inspections, testing, and servicing of electrical equipment to prevent breakdowns and maintain compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Respond quickly to electrical failures, identify root causes using systematic fault-finding methods, and carry out repairs to minimise disruption to production.

  • Installation & Modifications: Support new installations, upgrades, and modifications to machinery and electrical systems, ensuring all work meets current regulations and company standards.

  • Electrical Systems Work: Maintain and repair control panels, drives, motors, sensors, and factory-wide electrical infrastructure, ensuring all systems remain safe and reliable.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Accurately complete maintenance logs, compliance paperwork, and technical reports to ensure traceability and adherence to regulatory requirements.

  • Health & Safety: Conduct risk assessments, follow isolation procedures, and adhere strictly to site Health & Safety policies, always ensuring a safe working environment.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, production teams, and contractors to resolve issues quickly, share technical knowledge, and support overall plant performance.

  • Shift Cover: Provide flexible support to cover team absences when required, ensuring the site always has the right engineering cover in place.

  • Housekeeping & Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment in line with best practice and operational standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Recognised apprenticeship or electrical qualification (C&G / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

  • Strong experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in an industrial or process environment

  • Knowledge of inverter drives and basic PLC logic

  • Ability to work independently and within a multi-skilled team

  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills

  • Calm, methodical approach under pressure

  • Excellent communication skills

Why Apply?

  • Salary up to £46,000

  • 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days & nights) with regular time off

  • Overtime opportunities available

  • Competitive pension scheme

  • Free on-site parking

  • Uniform, tools, and PPE provided

  • Additional training and professional qualifications supported

  • Long-term career progression opportunities

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer seeking stability, variety, and the chance to work with high-spec plant and equipment in a supportive environment.
